Using the example of a research project with the Catalyst Schools, the author explores how early values clarification experiences formed the foundation of present-day experiences as a Lasallian researcher. Intersections among several dimensions of identity - educator, researcher, and social justice advocate - are described as tranformative resources in developing professional practice and in sustaining continuing scholarly engagement in educational research. This paper is adapted fromn the author’s presentation at the Third Annual Symposium on Lasallian Research, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Minneapolis campus, September 29, 2014.
